F.W. Webb‘s Lowell branch (BR8) recently donated bath materials, including faucets and tubs, to Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity (GNHFH). Construction volunteers used those supplies to complete a duplex in Nashua, New Hampshire.
GNHFH designated the project to provide housing for military families. Brianna Tucker and Claudia Ramirez, who both served in the U.S. Army, were the beneficiaries.
Military service members often encounter challenges returning to civilian life. This is especially true for female veterans. Thankfully, organizations like GNHFH stand ready to help them find a home to call their own.
After reviewing their applications, GNHFH accepted Brianna and Claudia into their Veteran Homeownership program. Both families combined for 737 “sweat equity” volunteer hours throughout the process.
GNHFH received more than $51,000 in commercial services and materials donations. Volunteers spent over 6,450 hours building the home.
More than two years after breaking ground, GNHFH held a Key Ceremony on August 18. Brianna and Claudia received their ceremonial “home sweet home” key plaques. Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess and Senator Maggie Hassan both spoke at the event.
